The Safenet SN-KC7816S 16-Port TP KVM Solution attempts to solve cable difficulties in high-density business server rooms and data centers by using readily managed Twisted Pair Cable (Cat 5e, Cat6, Cat7 cables) instead of heavy KVM combo cables, which may save considerable space and drastically minimize cable waste. To accommodate longer distance needs, the cabling extension distance may be increased to 100M and even more at a resolution of 1920×1080. A control device in a 1U Rack-Mountable enclosure with an integrated 18.5′′ LED-backlit widescreen LCD Monitor, keyboard, and touchpad offers safe access to the linked servers from a single KVM console. Two USB ports and one VGA port are built onto the back to allow for extra keyboard/mouse and external display connectivity.
